I had a lovely evening. Just me, a glass of wine, popcorn, and crappy science fiction movies.

Today...?

I woke up to the cookies I baked last night! Nothing quite like waking up to a breakfast of lasagna followed by cookies accompanied by tea. NOTHING.

Also I went out today intending to see a movie and ended up buying this dress. Which is a big deal, because I never buy clothes except for jeans. The perils of being able to sew your own clothes is ending up with a wardrobe consisting of novelty print t-shirts, jeans, and a variety of extremely pretty party dresses.

I'm super excited to own a semi-casual dress that I didn't make! Think of all the time I saved myself!

In which I took more photos of my feet than any sane person probably should

Which resulted in only these two photos being decent enough to warrant internetz posting. Yeah.

I don't have a tri-pod yet so doing photos like these involves a stack of books, and carefully balancing my camera over said stack weighing it back by the strap with my stapler.

I think there's an old tri-pod in the garage, so I definitely need to go trunk-diving to find it.


For now? I'm walking on rainbows, baby!

COOKIES

I've had this weird thing for the last couple of days where I get crippling stomach pains unless I'm eating after around nine at night. It's really strange. Last night I was good and ate eggs on toast and more toast and some fruit.

Tonight I ate an entire packet of oreos. Yeah.

I did some sketching last night.

Shitty cell phone pictures and half a litre of sprite are important factors in late night pattern-making.

I'm tossing up at the moment between a zipper or an elasticated waist. I prefer the fitted nature of zippers, but I tried on a really nice dress with an elasticated waist yesterday that's tipped my interest more in their favour.

I'm so hardcore.

It's totally a fake, but whatever. It's imitation leather made from VISCOSE, so I DON'T CARE.

Yes I will get a better photo of it. I really need to get out of the habit of taking all my photos at two in the morning when my hair is disgusting....

Also, I've been missing days. Not actually missing, but forgetting to upload. This is due to a variety of excuses I can't be bothered giving, but rest assured I had my reasons and DID in fact take my happy photos each day, despite failing to upload them.

Today was awesome because....

My house smells like peanutbutterchocolatechipcookies. They taste so goooooood.

Also I finished a commission which is currently whisking its way across the ocean to Canada.

And my backyard was looking particularly attractive today, if I do say so myself...

The moon was stupidly bright last night. So bright, in fact, that it made shadows through the trees and onto my curtains. Which may or may not have creeped me out.

I blame the episode of Supernatural I had watched featuring a homicidal phantom clown. Damn clown.

I'll probably change this later tonight.

But for the minute you get a photo of a skirt I'm working on. It's going to be fun to dance in. It swirls! And has tulle! TULLE!

Just another experiment with colour editing and depth of field. Not particularly exciting, but I'm having one of those days where I want to spend the entire day in the shower, not talking to anyone.

I do wish I had more range in terms of the focal depth, but I'm pretty sure that can only be achieved with a higher end camera or a proper DSLR, which obviously I'm not willing to sink the money into. I'm bookmarking a couple of models that accept old Minolta lenses for my mother though, and in another couple of years when I can justify the expense I'd love to get myself a Canon (Don't judge me, every photographer I follow uses one).

Is there anything better than dark peppermint chocolate that you were sure had been discontinued, but in fact, hadn't?

Why yes.

Do you miss dancing?

You were definitely stronger then, and could lift yourself higher than you can now, and you could dance on the tips of your toes for hours...

But you can still do some pretty cool things nowadays. Like allowing me to walk places, and wear cool shoes. And I like to think you forgive me for all the abuse over the years...

After all, you do practically nothing all day now, and you get to wear these ridiculously awesome fluffy socks.

Rainbows!

God, how I love them. Especially in shoe form. And double-especially when said shoe form is new.

If you go and view this photo in huge you can see that the thread used to stitch the shoe together is rainbow. That's right. I have rainbows in my steps today.

I spent wednesday and thursday with my favourite lady.

We ate delicious cake...

Went to super awesome bookstores covered in graffiti that informed us that Vladamir Nabokov thought the store was awesome...

And I valiantly resisted the urge to purchase a book which would teach me to speak Klingon. Because my geekdom probably shouldn't be that hardcore.

Yeah I totally love the internet.

So much so that I moved my living room chair in front of the screen for better 'netzing comfort. Because that is how much time I spend on the internet. I need to get a laptop.

Also I've been listening to the Numa Numa song OVER AND OVER AGAIN ON REPEAT AND I'M STARTING TO LEARN THE WORDS SOMEONE COME SAVE ME.
